One of my doctoral students, a woman and professor, felt at odds with changes in the school’s program. “Its taking me away from what I want to do, what I love,” she confided in me just before she dropped out. Here was a lover of social justice, of ecological studies, of awareness and consciousness, of excellence, hung out to dry by her school.
