SANTANA NIGHT

Oils, spray enamel, and paint stick on canvas

It was Santana Day 1999 in Tucson. A concert stage built on the desert floor turned into a double light show that night. The Santana stage flashed into black skies, crackling with nearby lightning turning our overhead blue. Between the two cavernous light shows, myriad forms were created in the illuminations and disappeared to pop up in the next set of double flashings. My youngest son, Tino, and I lounged to Santana.
