MAYAN TIME CAPSULE
60" x 32"
with frame (4 layers)
Spray enamel, acrylics, oils, and paint stick on illustration board
Done in Tucson in 115-degree heat,
figures seemed to form from the evaporation of anything I put on
it. It was originally an English hunting scene,
which I found in curbside trash. The red Unicorn crossing the center
of the piece remains its fugitive figure. An instrument of some kind
covered with runes, the temple container, rises from the hole of
endless time. The massive head on the left seeks visionary
timelessness but evokes a demon.
